Usually, in the name of reasons of State, this information only reaches ordinary citizens a hundred years later, through the meticulous work of academic researchers, poring over good archives. This is when these files are not set on fire, something quite common in the country. But, as things have changed - and special forces are no longer made as they used to be - the phone data files of a former aide-de-camp are helping a lot in the sense of elucidating details about the frames that were behind the coup attempt from January 8th.

We are already treating this fact here as a black box of the January 8th coup, due to the content of the conversations revealed, identifying not only the actors involved - including the high-ranking ones - but the fabric of the conspiracy, with the details of the stages that should be complied with, the actors that should be "isolated", the exceptional measures that should be adopted, among other things of the kind. The mobilizations of radical Bolsonaristas in Brasília, in this sense, were just the tip of the iceberg.

In the death throes, something far more sordid was brewing. The country is still experiencing a situation of a dangerous spiral, where our democratic institutions are recommended not to let their guard down at any time. The Lula government finds itself politically harassed and economically paralyzed by high interest rates, under constant pressure from the gentlemen of the Centrão, being pressured to give in where it cannot. I have already said that the Ministry of Health does not surrender, while these gentlemen insist on emphasizing that, without the Ministry of Health, there is no possible negotiation.
